D. A. Surgical was founded by Dan Allen, a pioneer in surgical patient positioning.
With more than 40 years dedicated to the study of anatomy and physiology—and participation in over 3,000 surgical procedures—Dan observed firsthand how patient positioning directly impacts safety and surgical performance. Through this experience, he identified consistent gaps in traditional positioning methods.
Driven to solve these challenges, he invented the boot-style surgical stirrup, which is now the standard of care used in operating rooms worldwide.
That same commitment to innovation led to the development of TrenGuard®, D. A. Surgical’s flagship Trendelenburg positioning system, clinically proven to prevent patient sliding without the need for shoulder braces.
